| From
working for the Welsh Arts Council after leaving school
I worked for a few years in the construction industry
designing timber frame houses. Following construction
I went into management for a design company before deciding
to return to education achieving an honours degree in
Fine Art in Context. My final university project involved
sending sculpted newspaper ‘penguins’ to various
parts of the world (including New Zealand and the North
Pole) and documenting their experiences on a purposely
designed website called Paper Penguins which was a relative
success here and around the world.
Following university I travelled to Australia and New
Zealand meeting up with my first ‘paper penguin’
Dennis, located at a penguin colony on the South Island.
I also designed a window display for a tourist information
and gift shop and gave talks about my project –
including press and TV interviews. On returning to the
UK I set up my own web and graphic design business straying
into garden and interior design.
My latest work is an excursion into exotic
wildlife and abstraction that has allowed me to return
to techniques and styles that excited me when I first
started learning about art (i.e. I get to play again!).

Project'!
